This book develops a civic-education framework for translating the Fundamental Duties of the Constitution of India into meaningful learning, institutional practice, and everyday behaviour. They should be connected with classroom culture, teacher conduct, student behaviour, family life, community participation, environmental responsibility, scientific temper, harmony, public property, and commitment to excellence.
The book analyses responsible citizenship through Indian educational thought and contemporary constitutional values. It explains how duties can be mainstreamed across curriculum, pedagogy, school activities, assessment, teacher education, and community engagement. The final chapters propose an institutional pathway and a National Civic Character Framework for developing ethically aware, participatory, disciplined, and constitutionally grounded citizens.
